Co-chaired by Cambodia and Indonesia, the 39th ASEAN Transport Facilitation Working Group (39th TFWG) Meeting was successfully conducted via video conference on 29-30 September 2020.
The 39th TFWG highlighted important agenda including the deliberation of ratification and implementation of ASEAN transport facilitation agreements and their protocols, as well as implementation of initiatives and projects with Dialogue Partners, International Organizations and ASEAN transport associations.
The Philippine Head of Delegation, Assistant Secretary Sheila G. Napalang also represented the Department of Transportation during the 12th ASEAN Transit Transport Coordinating Board Meeting (12th TTCB) which was held virtually on 1 October 2020. Asec. Napalang updated the meeting on the recent undertakings of the Philippines on agenda items, namely: (a) Progress Report of Transport-related issues; (b) Progress Report on Movement of Dangerous Goods in Transit Transport; and, (c) Exchange of Information on Implementation of Sub-Regional, Trilateral and Bilateral Cross-Border Transport Arrangements.
Other members of the Philippines Delegation were representatives from Philippine Coast Guard, Civil Aeronautics Board, Maritime Industry Authority, Department of Justice, and the DOTr Planning and Project Development Office and International Cooperation Division. Other members of the delegation were representatives from the Office for Transportation Secuirty, Philippine Ports Authority and the Department’s Planning and Project Development Office and International Cooperation Division.
