The facility has different zones for the different types of COVID-19 infection, such as mild, more advanced, and severe.
Located inside Pier 15 at Manila South Harbor, the terminal will house about 211 cubicles.
The facility will likewise be fitted with equipment needed to treat COVID-19 patients. In addition, it has airtight doors to prevent aerosols containing COVID-19 from spreading.
The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), under the guidance of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and with the help of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), continues to carry out round-the-clock works, to swiftly achieve the 100% completion of the facility.
The construction of the treatment facility has also been made possible through the PhP100 million funding support from the Lopez Group of Companies.
Once completed in the next few days, the facility will immediately start its operations to serve our countrymen, most especially those who are infected with COVID-19 and are residing in the National Capital Region (NCR), as well as in the region’s adjoining cities and provinces.
