In response to the call of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to send our OFWs back to their provinces, the Department of Transportation joins the National Task Force for COVID-19, and concerned government agencies, in establishing the Hatid-Tulong Program, to assist and transport our stranded OFWs in Metro Manila back to their respective provinces.
As of 08 January 2021, the ‘Hatid-Tulong Program' has assisted and served a total of 401,322 OFWs, 123,452 of which were transported by land, 209,185 using air transport (data for land and air transport are from May 25, 2020 - January 08, 2021), and via sea transport 68,685 (sea travel from April 27, 2020 - January 08, 2021).
The Hatid-Tulong Program is a joint initiative of the Office of the President, National Task Force Covid-19, Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Office for Transportation Security (OTS), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
