As the country faces anew the onslaught of typhoon "Auring," the Department of Transportation (DOTr), under the leadership of Secretary Arthur Tugade, and its attached agencies, have been on full alert, and readily mobilized its resources to extend immediate and much-needed relief and assistance to our kababayans.
Up to this very hour, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has deployed its manpower contingent, conducting rescue and evacuation operations in affected areas in Mindanao, while the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has opened its ports to serve as temporary shelter, and also distributed other necessities to our stranded kababayans.
In these very difficult times, rest assured that we are here to help, and we will go above and way beyond to help our kababayans.
May we, as one Filipino family, offer prayers of protection and safety to our heroes at the frontline who continue to serve and sacrifice in the face of danger and arduous risks to their very own lives. We thank and salute them for their gallantry and invaluable service.
And we continue to pray for our nation, most especially the regions in Mindanao severely affected by "Auring."
WE ARE STRONGER THAN ANY TYPHOON!
