To provide livelihood assistance to transport workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) yesterday, 12 October 2021.
The eTSUPERneur program is a long-term solution that will uplift the current livelihood situation of the transport sector through the provision of entrepreneurial-related training, business management orientation, business capital, and micro-insurance.
The program is an instrument to help workers in the transport sector earn an extra income, while providing service to the commuting public.
Participants who wish to join the program will be trained with various skillsets as they enter businesses related to food, mechanical, among others.
Each participant will receive an amount of P30,000 as one of the benefits.
