Today, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade will inaugurate the new Corporate Building of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The new building will house MCIAA employees in centralized offices with better equipment. The six-story facility aims to improve services and accessibility to airport stakeholders.

Apart from the inauguration, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and MCIAA, with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), will also inspect the airport’s secondary runway.

By next year, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) will have the country’s first two (2) parallel runways. This will enhance the gateway’s capacity to handle aircraft traffic movements. The secondary runway will likewise secure the airport against operational disruptions.

The improvement of the MCIA is a testament to our continuous pursuit of providing world-class air transport infrastructure that is worthy of award and recognition.

In line with the BUILD,BUILD,BUILD program of the Duterte administration, we continue fulfilling the promise of a comfortable life through enhanced connectivity and mobility as well as inclusive and equitable growth across the regions.

We keep pushing forward!
