As Secretary Art Tugade continues to fulfill President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s mandate to give a more comfortable and convenient life to the Filipino people, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has been pursuing various game-changing transport infrastructures and initiatives for the road sector.
 
Since the start of the Duterte administration in 2016, the DOTr, under the visionary and unwavering leadership of Secretary Tugade, is completing much-needed road transport projects and programs, including the first-ever land port in the country—the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), a long stretch of bike lane networks throughout the country to promote active transportation, and the revitalized EDSA with the introduction of the EDSA Busway, among others.
 
In line with prioritizing the efficient movement of public utility vehicles (PUVs), the DOTr likewise continues with the completion of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) and the Davao High Priority Bus System (HPBS).
 
Through its digitization efforts to seamlessly implement online and ease transactions with the public, capacitate the agencies' personnel, prevent potential crimes, immediately respond to incidents on the road, wipe out fixers and corruption, and ease out daily services, the DOTr road sector also amplifies the capabilities of its attached agencies, including the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB and the Land Transportation Office-Philippines (LTO).
 
The DOTr likewise is continuing to improve the frontline services to better serve the public with the introduction of the state-of-the-art monitoring facilities and systems, while enhancing the country's transportation database.
 
Within the last 49 days of the Duterte administration, the DOTr shall continue to carry out an ease of mobility initiative in road transportation, to ultimately give the riding public comfortable, efficient, safe, and consistent mode of travel.
