With barely a month left before the Duterte Administration comes to an end, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), along with its attached agencies, remains firm in delivering its mandate for the Filipino people, anchored in the covenant made by Secretary Art Tugade—to waste no time at all, and work and serve until the last day of office.
Forming part of continuing efforts to fulfill our goal of providing an improved quality of life for all is the strengthening of the human workforce of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), apart from modernizing its entire fleet and assets.
From only about 6,000 Coast Guard personnel five years ago, it has undertaken a massive build-up to expand and beef up its roster to around 22,000 Coast Guard personnel at present, and eventually attain a 35,000-strong workforce in the future.
This is our PCG NOW—STRONGER, MORE POWERFUL, AND READY THAN EVER, to respond to the calls for help and assistance of the Filipinos coast to coast, with its expanded roster, modern maritime and aerial assets and enhanced capability.
