IN PHOTOS: After witnessing the ceremonial turnover of leadership at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - LTFRB this morning, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista inspected the agency’s Central Public Utility Vehicle Monitoring System (CPUVMS).

He was briefed by former LTFRB Martin Delgra III on the functions of the first and most modern tracking system of the LTRB with real-time monitoring of each trip, speed, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and the number of running PUVs in a specific time and route.
The CPUVMS utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS), and mainly focuses on harvesting real-time data feed from the GPS device that are initially installed in the city or provincial buses.
The gathered GPS data will then be the input for bus activities visualization, monitoring of the traffic and violations committed by the PUVs. Through the system, real-time activity and endeavor of the vehicle will be monitored virtually at the Central Command Station of the agency.
