The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) supports DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista's commitment to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. who issued directives for the transport sector, particularly in the aviation sector, during the President’s State of Nation Address (SONA).

"CAAP vows to actively pursue and champion Secretary Bautista's commitment to PBB's goals for the aviation sector by pushing for efforts that will increase the capacity of our facilities and improving the safety and security of our airports also in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards," CAAP Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo said.

In support of the Secretary's vision for the enhancement of the aviation sector, CAAP released a report showing that the agency has completed the night rating of 23 major and commercial airports, with 11 airports being successfully night-rated in the last six years.

CAAP intends to continue its efforts to enable more airports to be capable of night-time take-off and landing to allow more flights and longer operating hours in regional airports.

This 2022 and onwards, seven more airports will be equipped with the necessary facilities to operate night-time flights.

CAAP is delighted to support Secretary Bautista and PBBM's united commitment to modernize the country's airports as it will benefit not only tourism and connectivity but also the country's economic growth.
