Currently, the Philippines only have 76.9 kilometers of operational railways. The government targets to build and lay the groundwork for approximately 1,200 kilometers of railways by 2022 and beyond, which will benefit around 4.5 million passengers per day.

Project Description |
Construction of a 37.6 km commuter railway from Malolos to Tutuban with ten (10) stations. It will be seamlessly integrated with PNR Clark Phase 2 and PNR Calamba, forming one integrated commuter railway system serving commuters travelling to, from, and within NCR, Region III, and Region IV-A. Also, the project will help decongest the worsening traffic conditions in Manila and increase economic growth in the surrounding regions. |
Project Impact |
This aims to reduce travel time between Tutuban and Malolos from over 1 hour and 30 minutes by bus or by car via McArthur Highway to 35 minutes once the railway is fully operational. Can benefit up to 300,000 passengers daily |

Construction of PNR Clark Phase 2 is a 53-km segment with six (6) stations and PNR Calamba is a 56-km Segment with nineteen (19) station connecting the NSCR (Tutuban-Malolos Alignment). Forming the NSCR Alignment from Clark New City, Clark International Airport to Calamba. |
Project Impact |
NR Clark Phase 2 will allow commuters to reach the Clark International Airport from Metro Manila in 55-minutes compared to two (2) hours by private vehicle via expressway. Subic-Clark Railway
Project Description |
The Subic-Clark Railway Project is a component of the PNR Luzon System Development Framework providing initial freight service between the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone, linking Subic Port with Clark International Airport and other major economic hubs in Central Luzon, especially New Clark City, and forming an integrated logistics hub for the development of Central Luzon as a new growth center to decongest Metro Manila. The project aims for the construction of 71.13-km rail located in the western section of Central Luzon, running on an exclusive ROW parallel to SCTEX with some sections adjacent to it. |
Project Impact |
The first phase of the project will link Port of Subic Bay and Clark Freeport Zone with a railway system, supporting economic growth and forming an integrated logistics corridor. |

Project Description |
The project involves the construction of approximately 11.7-km railway line from its tie in point at the terminus of LRT Line 1 at the Baclaran Terminal to Niog Station at Bacoor, Cavite, of which approximately 10.5 km will be elevated and 1.2 km will be at-grade. Eight (8) stations will be constructed with a provision for two (2) additional stations. Intermodal facilities will also be installed at high-demand stations, namely Niog, Zapote, and Dr. Santos Stations. It also includes the procurement of thirty (30) 4-car trains; total of 124 light rail vehicles. (LRVs) and construction of new satellite depot and expansion of the existing depot. |

The project involves the design and construction of the 3.8-km Eastern extension of the existing Line 2 from Santolan Station at Marcos Highway fronting SM Marikina and terminating at Masinag Junction or the intersection of Marcos Highway and Sumulong Highway. The total length of LRT Line 2 will be approximately 17.593 km upon completion of the project. |

The project will provide rapid and reliable mode of transit to the east of Manila and to various strategic commercial, industrial and educational districts in Metro Manila either through direct access from LRT Line 2 itself or through interconnections with other LRTs or modes of transport. The two (2) stations to be constructed will be located at a)Marikina Station in front of Robinson's Place Metro East in Cainta, Rizal; and b)Antipolo Station in Antipolo City, Rizal. This includes civil works, construction supervision, electromechanical system, rolling stock, land acquisition, resettlement, and utilities relocation. |
